As a seventh generation resident of Walworth County, Representative Tyler August has a rich family history in area as well as a keen understanding of the values of its residents. Born on January 26, 1983, Tyler is a lifelong resident of Walworth County. He is a 2001 graduate of Big Foot Public High School. After attending both UW-Eau Claire and UW-Madison, Tyler served as former State Rep. Tom Lothian's chief of staff at the State Capitol.
Tyler also has a strong history of activism in local and state politics through his leadership in the Republican Party. He was not only the Chairman for the Walworth Republican Party, but also Chairman for Paul Ryan's 1st Congressional District. Tyler currently resides in the Town of Lake Geneva, which is located in both the current and future 32nd District.

Representative Tyler August (R-Lake Geneva) was first elected to serve in the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2010. He won the November 2010 election with nearly 60% of the vote.
Representative August was chosen to serve on the Assembly Committees on State Affairs and Homeland Security, Insurance, and Consumer Protection and Personal Privacy.
As a freshman legislator, Representative August has accomplished a great deal. He had his first bill signed into law by Governor Walker during the first months of legislative session. The legislation requires a 2/3 super-majority vote to increase taxes. The bill makes it harder to raise taxes with goals of reducing the tax burden on Wisconsin families and businesses and dropping Wisconsin out of the top ten highest taxed states.
